Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) is a member of the nuclear receptor
superfamily that is activated by binding certain fatty acids, eicosanoids, and insulin-
sensitizing thiazolidinediones (TZD). The TZD troglitazone (TRO) inhibits vascular smooth
muscle cell proliferation and migration both in vitro and in vivo. The precise mechanism of its
