Abstract
SARS-CoV-2 is responsible for a global pandemic, resulting in over 2.5 million deaths worldwide since late 2019. Understanding the immune response has played a critical role in the development of novel drug and vaccine candidates. Antibody responses are a key part of the adaptive immune response to infection. However, these responses are highly variable, leading some antibody responses to be stronger in magnitude or character than others. This is driven by differences in the site that the epitope coverage of the antibody via the Fab region, or by differences in the Fc domain, resulting in varying types and levels of functional activity. It is therefore important to characterize the antibody response and determine which characteristics lead to a productive antiviral response.
